Hipsters

For this play I wanted to parody how Art is often used to gentrify and literally “sell” a neighborhood. I drew inspiration from “The Government Inspector”, a classic farce written in 1832 by Nikolai Gogol, setting it in New Orleans. In Hipsters a couple of gutter punks get mistaken as famous street artist Barksy. Hipsters ran for 4 nights at the (now closed) Red House on St Claude, a collectively run performance space showcasing mostly music. I view Hipsters as my greatest success and most fun production.
